The following article is a list of current insurance providers for LFT 1614. Access to each providers' website is included.

Congratulations to Donna Klick and Deb Sutherland on achieving National Board certification!  Both members teach English at the Academy.  Your union is very proud of you! 

February's monthly union meeting will take place at each site.  The meetings will have the same agenda and will be informational only but we also seek your feedback.  Here is the tentative agenda:

• Golf tournament fundraiser for athletics
• COPE Update
• negotiations update
• ending balance campaign
• Morale issues
• layoffs
• classified report

The meetings start at 3:15 and will be in room 113 at GHS and in room 506 at LRHS.

The JCAFT and BAFT will need help from all educators during the 2012 legislative session. We need your help fighting the tough issues ahead.

PRESS RELEASE: No Child Left Behind Waived for Georgia & 9 other states

One of the most pressing issues we find ourselves facing is the impending legislation to allow charter schools in Alabama. AFT Alabama does not support charter schools here while the bill is in its’ current form.
