AFT Washington has been offering this conference since 2006 and attendees have reported they enjoy the camradarie with other members, the workshops are outstanding and taught by great facilitators, and they will attend this informative and fun conference every year.
Our annual professional development conference for pre-K through higher education classified members will be held on Saturday, March 18, from 8:30 AM to 2 PM at Giaudrone Middle School, 4902 S. Alaska St., Tacoma. This conference offers workshops that provide the skills and tools you need to be able to excel at your job.
This year the conference features interactive workshops on workplace bullying, tools and tips for using Microsoft Office, understanding and working with students who have autism, knowing your contract and your rights, and on the challenges and opportunities for union membership in the time of the Trump administration.
Representatives from the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems, Sunrise Dental, and School Employees Credit Union will have information tables. We are collecting donations of school supplies and snacks for homeless students. Breakfast and lunch provided. Our infamous raffle for door prizes will also be held
