This year's KOSE Convention, Moving Forward, will begin with a reception on Friday October 25th and conclude at close of business on October 26th. The convention call was sent out to members on September 4^th. All members of KOSE are encouraged to join our democratic process! The reception on Friday evening from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm is a great opportunity to meet and greet other KOSE activists and members. On Saturday, the work of the union will begin. Nominations for this year's officers must be received by 2:00 pm on October 26-- voting will take place by mail directly following the convention. We will have sessions on Workplace Bullying, legislative priorities and grievance handling. Registration materials can be found here. Contract Ratification

We have a new contract!  Below are the highlights.  The complete contract will be posted when the College finishes creating an electronic version.  Below are the highlights.

1. 2% pay raises each year for everyone plus $10 per credit for adjunct faculty who have taught more than 15 semesters;

2. priority hiring for adjunct faculty members after the 10th semester for adjunct faculty positions; adjunct faculty members need to apply and demonstrate teaching excellence and participation in professional development. This is a first in New Jersey!  No other college has a formal system that recognizes current adjunct faculty members when considering who will be hired the next semester;

3. pay days have been increased from 4 to 6;

4. waiver of the student activity, technology, and athletic fees when taking advantage of tuition waiver has been added;

5. $25 for required attendance at meetings that are not considered professional development or department meetings.
