CTA has been fighting for YOU! I am excited to announce we have settled the Substitute/Splitting Classes Unfair Labor Practice (ULP), which will help to improve working conditions. What does this mean for you? Below is a breakdown of the settlement agreement:

Negotiations Update

Good News! Your Negotiating Team and the College have reached a settlement. The Memorandum of Agreement - Download PDF here
 
Our ratification process will begin on Thursday, February 20th from 12:00-12:30 & 12:30-1:00 in ATCC 101. Please make every effort to attend in order to vote on the tentative agreement.

2019 Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to all our 2019 Scholarship Award winners.

A&R awarded 10 Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 to children of active A&R members who are graduating High School this year entering post-secondary education in September 2019.

A&R also awarded 5 Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 to children of active A&R members who are continuing their post-secondary education.

A&R also awarded the presigious Harry Zilber Scholarship of $2500 to the child of one active A&R member.

DFT Mourns the Passing of Federal Judge Damon Keith

We are saddened to learn of the passing of Damon Keith, the legendary federal court judge. A 1939 graduate of Detroit Northwestern High School, he was a champion for public education and in 1971 ruled that Pontiac schools should be racially integrated. A Detroit elementary school was named in his honor in 1974. We lift up a prayer for his family in their hour of need.

Decision on DPLC Unfair Labor Practice

April 26, 2019

Dear CTA Members,

WE WON FOR YOU! A recommended order was issued on the DPLC Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charge that CTA filed against the District on November 28, 3018. I am thrilled to announce that the hearing officer ruled overwhelmingly in favor of CTA! Please read the entire recommendation at this link.

A&R Convention and Election Results

Don't forget that tonight is the A&R Convention at the A&R Office (805 Brook St, Rocky Hill)

The scholarships will be awarded starting at 4:30.

The business meeting will begin at 6:00pm (ID required).
